The House in the Cerulean Sea – Book Review

About the Book

“A person is more than where they come from.”

“The things we fear the most are often the things we should fear the least. It’s irrational, but it’s what makes us human. And if we’re able to conquer those fears, then there is nothing we’re not capable of.”

“A herd of charging, heavily pregnant rhinoceroses would have been quieter than the children were at that moment”

Remember how on a cold winter evening wrapped in your blanket how a cup of hot chocolate feels like? This is exactly how this book would feel like. We follow Linus Baker’s story from just surviving in a mundane routine to finding an unexpected family and living his fullest.
TJ Klune has written a beautiful wholesome story in a fantasy world where humans and magical creatures co-exists or at least tries to.

Review

Rate: 4.5/5

I love this book for how beautifully it delves into your emotions , how it simply yet sensitively explores aspects of right, wrong and gray areas of our thought process. I love the detailed characters Klune has written and how for each of them you’ll feel nothing but pure love and joy.

The book is also humorous at times and will give you a good laugh.
If you enjoy fantasy and want to read something wholesome and light, run and get this book.
